Surf’s up in Illinois
Hey Midwestern surfers! We are excited to announce that the Longboard presence in Illinois is expanding! We’ve got a great new distributor—Winebow—who will be putting our wines on shelves and wine lists at the finest establishments. If you’re looking for our wine in Illinois and can’t find it, call 773-596-2800 to ask for restaurants or wine shops that carry us. Also: we’re planning a very special tasting in Chicago in August—midwest club members will be invited. Stay tuned!
Also, I’d like to talk to these local surfers.
Yes, Virginia, there is Longboard wine in your wine stores and restaurants
I was down in Virginia last month at our distributor’s headquarters in Charlottesville. What a beautiful place. I liked it so much I’m going back! I’ll be in Harrisonburg guest-hosting the Longboard Wine Dinner at the Local Chop & Grill House. It’s going to be an amazing dinner.
Another outstanding Harrisonburg wine landmark is Downtown Wine & Gourmet, owned by Amanda Monger. We highly recommend that Longboard tribe members visit this shop.
And I won’t forget to stop in at the Wine Cellar at 8 Byers Street in Staunton. Kimberly is famous for her ability to help buyers find the perfect wine for their occasion—whether it’s dinner at home, a special anniversary, or a wine-tasting party for 12.
Spreading the love
I had a fun experience yesterday, out in Port Jefferson in Long Island. A friend was taking a three-month hiatus to care for her health. She is such a light of a person. So I met up with some other people, and we took her out to lunch. I made the reservation, and brought a bottle of the Longboard Redgrav Cab because I wanted something really special. As we wished her a quick recovery, the owner of the restaurant stopped by. I poured her a glass and she called her wine buyer over. Next thing you know, they ordered a couple of cases on the spot!
My intention is to just have a good time and spread the Longboard philosophy. The logical by-product? I sell a boatload of wine.
