The Russian River Valley Winegrowers dinner took place in Santa Monica on Thursday, May 6th at Valentino’s. Joseph Swan, Inman, Iron Horse, Pappaietro Perry and Longboard Vineyards were chosen by Pierro Selvagio to participate in the dinner that was meant to showcase the best of the appellation. It just happenned that the 38 year old restaurant recieved a glowing 4 and 1/2 stars review from the LA Times the same day that we featured two of the Longboard Wines in the dinner! Follow this link to see the review.
The evening was a smashing success and a true culinary delight. How often can you get 4 Pinot Noirs (Inman, Pappaietro, Longboard and Swan) a delicious sparkling wine (Iron Horse Wedding Cuvee) a classy Syrah (Longboard’s 2006 Dakine Vineyard) and a great Zinfandel (Swan RRV) paired with the creations of a great chef like Nicolas Chessas! All for $100 per person!
The guests and the vintners had a great time learning about how unique our region is and what a great value the wines represent. More than anything, the cooperative spirit was celebrated by all, as Oded says: “We all make better wines – The consumer wins – We win!”
