In 1998, Longboard Vineyards harvested a whopping ton and a half of Syrah, which yielded about 75 cases of wine. This first vintage (released in 2001) was sold mostly to friends, local restaurants in Northern California and, of course, a few cases went to quality control! Now, eight harvests later, Longboard is distributed throughout all of California, 18 states and in Japan. Our growth has been organic, fueled by demand from our own mailing list and requests generated from word of mouth; we may have just done something right.
Since the availability of some of the grapes used for our single vineyard wines is very limited, we unfortunately cannot guarantee a bottle will be available for purchase when you come to visit the winery or surf in the web shop. This is your opportunity to get in on the bottom floor of our wine club, keep that vertical collection of the ROCHIOLI CABERNET SAUVIGNON going and ensure you always have some DAKINE SYRAH in your cellar.
After much discussion (and a few bottles of Dakine), we are pleased to un"cork" our new wine club name. The SurfRider club is now available for lineup. We are offering two levels of membership to make sure everyones' needs are met.
